Acciones para erradicar y controlar la mosca de la fruta protegen la agricultura familiar en Piura
El Ministerio de Agricultura y Riego, a través del SENASA, informó que durante primeras acciones de intervención se busca determinar la incidencia de la plaga en zonas de producción hortofrutícola, situadas en la región Piura.
A través de un sistema de vigilancia oficial, conformada por 9200 trampas, se pretende diseñar estrategias de control y erradicación para proteger la producción de la agricultura familiar e impulsar el consumo de alimentos sanos.
Frente a la situación de emergencia sanitaria por el Covid 19, la estrategia no se detuvo, y con un reducido equipo de trabajo se vienen desarrollando acciones de vigilancia que mantiene alerta las atenciones en diversos puntos de la región.
De esta manera, la autoridad sanitaria mantiene la protección fitosanitaria en la producción de alimentos agropecuarios, de plagas que podrían ocasionar pérdidas económicas a la agricultura familiar.
Las acciones fitosanitarias desarrolladas por el SENASA proteger más de 200 mil hectáreas hortofrutícolas, entre las que destacan los campos de mango, uva, palto, arándanos, pimientos y demás productos de gran demanda en los mercados nacionales e internacionales.
El objetivo principal del proyecto es la erradicación de la plaga para mejorar la competitividad agraria de más de 70 mil pequeños productores piuranos así como fortalecer el desarrollo del sector hortofrutícola con la apertura de nuevos mercados para beneficio de la agricultura familiar, sostén de la producción agropecuaria del país
